Greif, through a subsidiary, has formed a 50-50 flexible packaging joint venture with National Scientific Company Limited (NSC), a subsidiary of Dabbagh Group Holding Co. of Saudi Arabia. Greif FPS plans to build a factory in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). The factory will produce polypropylene woven fabric that can be used to manufacture the finished flexible polywoven containers. We expect this factory to provide several advantages that will benefit our customers: Tight quality controls, Center of innovation and manufacturing, excellence for woven materials, Logistical advantages, Globally integrated and secure supply chain, and Competitive labor, energy and raw material sources. Also definitive agreements have been signed to acquire Sunjüt and Ünsa; both companies are headquartered in Istanbul, Turkey. These two transactions are expected to be finalized in August of this year. In addition, Ligtermoet BV, based in the Netherlands, was acquired a few weeks ago. Together with Storsack group, which was acquired earlier this year, all four companies will become part of the new flexible packaging JV, called Greif Flexible Products and Services (FPS).
I. Summary (Scope of the Job)
This job is a six month consulting project to full-time hire.
Overall responsibility for supporting the Flexible Products and Services Global ComEx team in developing, managing, and executing commercial strategies, processes, and tactics including, but not limited to, performance management, pricing, channel management, merger and acquisition support, competitive and marketing intelligence, hunting and recovery, customer satisfaction, and personnel development.
II. Major Responsibilities
1. Support customer retention efforts globally, as four newly acquired businesses are combined into one.
2. Address commercial, fact-based information needs by developing new technical tools, striving for automated business analysis and management reports.
3. Ensure accuracy and accessibility of profitability and pricing data by managing and enhancing the Value Added Database.
4. Maintain and enhance commercial performance management tracking and reporting for Commercial Excellence, Account Managers, plants, and others. (Performance metrics includes, among others, sales and value added achievement versus budget.)
5. Address commercial, fact-based information needs by developing new technical tools, striving for automated business analysis and management reports.
6. Work with BU VP/GM’s and Sales and Marketing Directors to develop budget (including establishment of annual sales targets and business objectives), and track progress during the fiscal year.
7. Create and maintain an electronic central customer contract warehouse.
8. Develop, maintain, and enhance standard templates and boilerplates for quotes and contracts with support of legal team.
9. Develop, and manage customer performance reports and processes.
10. Review quality database reports and processes, for dissemination & improvement.
11. Support team by providing expertise when conducting key financial analysis.
12. Utilize lean tools and methodologies to develop and improve administrative processes.
13. Identify and develop value-selling tools for the sales team.
14. Support M&A integration activity.
15. Develop profiles of customer segments to better develop value propositions and identify new sales leads.
16. Develop and coordinate operational cost saving initiatives, including SKU/part rationalization, down gauging, etc, and track implementation success.
17. Support the development of pricing strategies. Develop tools to predict and track the impact of announced price adjustments.
18. Support the development and management of channel strategies.
19. Assist in the development of marketing communications.
20. Develop and maintain Sales & Marketing electronic repository.
21. Performs other duties as assigned.
III. Background Requirements
Education:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent business experience
Experience:
Five years experience in an analytical, quantitative role. 3+ year’s manufacturing industry experience strongly preferred.
Knowledge and Skills:
Well-rounded abilities to conduct very quantitative, detail-oriented analysis as well as to develop strategic options and problem-solve for a higher-level issue. Proven ability to lead, drive performance, and participate in team environment – needs excellent interpersonal skills. Superb time management, project management, and planning skills. Must be able to work independently. Mastery of Microsoft Excel and Access is a must.
